Thanks. I wasn't quite home when I posted this (I was actually in a car being driven (thankfully not by me) away from the San Jose airport), but I'm home now. Whew!
Those folks were in the Orange Country ("John Wayne") Airport doing what everyone in airports seems to do now, which is stare at variously-sized glowing screens. Myself included.
Tube-thingie answer to follow soon.
